When do you need a lock replacement?

A lock replacement isn't only something you do when the lock is broken. There are plenty of situations where replacing a lock is the quickest and most effective way to protect yourself.

After losing or having keys stolen

Lost keys mean an unknown person could potentially access your home. If keys were lost somewhere public, or together with documents that reveal your address — changing the lock isn't just advisable, it's essential. We can be there in 30–60 minutes.

After a break-in or attempted break-in

A burglary attempt often damages the lock mechanism in ways that make it easier to force next time. Even if everything looks fine on the outside, the internal mechanism may be damaged or tampered with. We assess the damage and replace the lock if needed.

Old or worn-out locks

Locks that have been in service for 10–15+ years gradually lose their original security rating — wear, corrosion and outdated technology make them easier to defeat. A modern Class A or B cylinder offers significantly better protection.

When a tenant moves out

If a tenant has left and hasn't returned all keys, or a building's stairwell lock has changed — replacing your lock is the only genuinely secure solution.

Cylinder locks (Europrofile)

The most common type in Latvia — a metal cylinder fitted into the door handle or deadbolt housing. Available in Class A, B and C security ratings. Class A suits standard flats; B and C offer higher protection. Popular brands: Keso, DOM, Wilka, EVVA, Mul-T-Lock.

Mortice locks

Built into the door body, recognisable by a larger housing with a mechanical bolt. Common on internal doors and in older buildings. Modern mortice locks are considerably more secure than their predecessors.

High-security locks

Systems like EVVA MCS, Abloy Protec2 or Mul-T-Lock MT5+ offer the highest available protection — resistance to bump and pick attacks, key copying protection and a documented key management system. Recommended for businesses, valuables storage and high-risk premises.
